When I am not centered, inevitably my thoughts are wandering, erroneous. Their lack of a pattern or relevance leads me to believe that the most challenging aspect about being human is the inconsistency in the thought patterns themselves... and this "interference" makes it difficult to ground ourselves spiritually, and this leads to an overall lack of self-awareness. Have you ever noticed this? Or is the question itself making your head spin? LOL.
In regard to how to ground yourself spiritually with self-awareness, there is this fluctuation or dichotomy between trusting the process and doubting everything almost entirely.
Why can't our thoughts be consistent? And when they're not predictable at all, why do we beat ourselves up? And how do we fix this?? To answer the aforementioned, I had to start with the fundamental question: "What thoughts are real thoughts, the ones that really matter and mean something?"
I heard: The thoughts that bring peace.
Oh. OK thanks. They make it seem so easy whenever I ask, and for the record, I most often roll my eyes and blurt out in my head like a hormonal teenager, "Well, why don't you guys come down here and deal with the 3-D yourselves then?" They aren't fans, so I just "send myself to my room" for more clarity...
Once in my room I then inquire, "What about the other thoughts that take up probably 95% of most of our days? What are those all about?"
The response: Ego thoughts. Wounded ego thoughts. Such thoughts will always bring fear, anxiety, unworthiness, fear, doubt, shame, guilt. They are not your Truth, child.
"Child." I hear that a lot when I'm channeling. I guess we ARE all children, after all - constantly growing and learning.
Then I heard/sensed - and here's the most important piece about how to ground yourself spiritually:
- If you have fleeting, urgent-feeling, fear-based thoughts, that's the wounded ego collective. You can feel it in your heart or your gut. You must clear this. Identify and clear. It starts with discernment.
- If your thoughts bring a smile to your face, that is the Divine aspect of your Higher Self in your human BEing.
This applies to the people and energies that surround you too. Cases in point:
- If they are healed within themselves, they will project love and gratitude authentically (words and actions that match) onto you.
- If they are wounded, it will feel like they are "taking" or sucking the energy and "light" beauty from you. This is not because they are bad, but instead because they are fearful or doubtful, not grounded. They haven't fully worked out the kinks, or their wounds (I see a cat licking its fur).
Send them love.
I paused and reflected on that last piece. It's actually vital for any empath to understand as empaths tend to carry the worries and concerns of others as a means of healing this planet, until they learn energetic boundaries. What I observed through the sensations in my body and in my studies of "patterns" of behavior is that often there are thoughts that we carry that are not actually our thoughts at all - they're not even our own wounded ego, but that of others'. Sometimes we carry them out of "love," and we do not realize this categorical "codependency" is how we unhealthily operate.
After I had this quasi-epiphany, I heard: You must lovingly cut those cords, child. Your power does not reside in taking on others' work or being a dumping ground, it resides in knowing your Truth, communicating it lovingly, and then planting seeds for positive change.
How do we do this, you ask? In my own self-healing practice, and what I relay forward, is that the BEST way to cleanse the mind, of our own thoughts and of the thoughts of other influences, starts with dedicated practice. To ground myself spiritually, the most helpful practice is meditation, the Lord's and serenity prayers with Reiki night and morning. I also study "A Course in Miracles" lessons. My practice is also exercising at least every other day, breathing in light and breathing out what needs to go while my heart beat raises and body clears. The practice for you might be walking, or listening to music, or playing with your kids, or cooking.
The question is: Do you have a consistent, daily practice to ground yourself spiritually so you can clear and find your Truth again?
Consistency of practice in quieting the mind is challenging in a world where the framework of time itself is tantamount. Because our days are segmented into time slots, we have to prioritize clearing the mind, connecting, finding inner peace. If or when you're feeling ungrounded, just a simple "breathe in, breathe out" can work wonders.
Remember, we grow in cycles.
Some months you'll be patting yourself on the back "YES!!" and others you'll want to punch everything you bump into. You might fall off the wagon with the whole consistency of practice thing. THAT IS OK. Just hop back on.
In sum, to ground yourself spiritually, find a consistent practice of inner peace-making. Practice it. Notice how you feel. Discern/identify and clear the thoughts that are "irrelevant" and find solace in the reminders of Truth that you are loved, and you are LOVE itself. Breathe that in, and breathe all that other stuff out.
