If It Ain’t Broke…

We all know that life can be challenging. And it is through life experiences that we grow stronger, more aware, more compassionate, more loving.  Right now, we need to remember to look around us and consider that everyone suffers at some given point and time (cue “Everybody Hurts” by REM).  We may paint a pretty picture of where we are on the outside, but we all experience pain internally – and ultimately growth once we let go.

But here’s the bigger picture perspective: All things are naturally in alignment with God. There is very little we must do to reconnect, to rekindle that relationship. Deep within each of us is the Spirit Light that connects us all to our origin, our Source. All that we need to do is ask to be reconnected, to allow. All we need to do is stop, close our eyes, and feel viscerally a “light” presence.  And once we feel that light from within, we can then extend it to everyone with our eyes, our minds, our hearts, and our gentle, authentic smiles.

One of the ways I consistently connect is to wake up and pray the Lord’s Prayer every morning to start my day.  Then I merely say the word, “Allow,” with the intent to clear any resistance.  For you?  Say whatever prayer or incantation resonates.  Each morning, I also turn on a light or open the curtains, close my eyes, and allow the light to expand in my line of “vision.”  This is a great, simple 3rd eye opening activity for those of you desiring to see True Color and Light.  Side note: I will be conducting a 3rd eye opening meditation/exercise at the Lumin8 Charlotte weekend event, September 23rd & 24th, to kick it off.

So what I’m trying to say is that there is really nothing to “fix.”  All we need to do is allow the channels of communication to re-open, and to do so consistently.  Some of us have built up resistance, a wall, that we created from our childhoods to protect us from perceived danger. And many, if not most, of us have repeated similar patterns throughout our lives or from lifetime to lifetime. But as we move into our True Selves, we no longer need this protection. What we need are the tools that allow us to learn to let it go – including prayer, introspection, a spiritual community, etc. If we continue to hold up the walls, all they will do is block us and hold us back from accomplishing what we really came here to do.

When we experience resistance in any form, look at its origin (introspection), thank the resistance for the purpose it served in our past (self-love and forgiveness), and let it go (release). When we hold on to our protection, it becomes resentment or baggage to the point we are unable and unwilling to forgive. Over time this affects our minds, bodies and souls. If our purpose here is to love – and I believe through every experience and ounce of my being that it is – then why should we not delve deeper into our own Truths to reach the root of our resistance, to clear the path that leads to light?  And once we clear that path to light, it allows others the opportunity to do the same. It is like a string of lights where once you plug in the “bad bulb” with a new one, the rest can shine their light again.  We don’t fix the light, we merely replace it with one that works.
