Empower Your Authentic Voice
The Most Effective Tool to Empower Your Authentic Voice

This morning I woke up with a terrifying dream. I was standing in front of a classroom full of teenagers, all laughing and crumbling their papers, playing on their phones, and talking amongst themselves while I was trying to give a lesson. It’s a teacher’s worst nightmare. Such visions haunt us all in different ways. And perhaps you, as I, have learned that “the haunting” is actually a way to process our biggest fears. I knew, right when I awoke, that I had to face that fear: The Voice Unheard. I had to incorporate the most effective tool I know to empower my authentic voice so I feel heard and seen.

As human beings we all need to feel heard and understood.  It’s theoretically the parents’, educators’, community’s job to execute this from the time of birth.  As the brain develops forming neurological pathways and our response mechanisms to various stimuli, it discerns who we are, our importance, our sense of self in this world.

Interestingly enough, many of us who are empathic or highly gifted intuitively grew up in households where we were not heard or understood on a deep level. It is actually because of this silence that we became so intuitive.  Instead of utilizing our natural gift of communication, we learned to listen intuitively, often for our own safety and self-preservation.  We ascertained that if we said anything it would either get shot down or defended against – not absorbed and understood with a gentle pat of comfort on the back.

What this does energetically, as you may already know, is blocks the energy fields, particularly the throat, the heart, the sacral chakras – not to mention the healthy boundaries and feelings of confidence in the solar plexus – allowing us to minimize and devalue who we are.  Patterns of this may present themselves in our relationships.  We begin to question: Are we really, fully able to express our Truth and be accepted for it? Or do we still hide out of fear of being punished or misunderstood?  Or do we lash out or spread venom rebelliously, often unintentionally?

One of the most helpful tools to empower your authentic voice is to go back to the younger you and give him/her the love they needed as well as release them from this need to protect his or herself.  You are an adult now, and these outdated tools and shields are no longer helpful.  So if you’re ready to let this aspect go and form newer, healthier neural pathways, follow these steps.

To begin: Close your eyes and revisit (imagine, sense or feel) that part of yourself that felt judged, unheard, scared, loved conditionally.  Really visualize, sense or feel him/her in front of you.  How old were you?

Start asking “little you” questions:

  • What is s/he afraid of, worried about, etc.?
  • What was happening at that time in your household, school, among friends, etc.?
  • Was there anyone in particular that repeatedly did not listen?  With your adult self’s help, have a conversation in your mind with that person.

Take that younger you gently by the shoulders, look them in the eye, and tell them exactly what they needed to hear, as if s/he were your child.  Remind your younger you that they do not need to protect themselves anymore, that you’re grown now and it’s time to move on.  Explain that they do have a voice, and it must be heard.  As you do this, notice any tension or pain in your body.  Breathe into that and ask that it be released, clearing any stale or stagnant energy.

You will notice when you emerge from this inner healing session that you feel much better, lighter.  As you move forward, you will have the courage to express your truth without worrying about others’ judgment.  Remember that your truth is not meant to hurt or belittle anyone if said so out of authenticity and from a place of love, not vengeance or fear.

This is a practice I myself have had to repeat a dozen times, ranging from age 3 to probably 22 and three-quarters.  And STILL, the growing continues; it’s cyclical, like a spiral.  We are constantly rediscovering our true nature and empowering our authentic voice and Higher Self. And with each growing pain, we grow stronger, wiser and, therefore, better able to walk others through our same life experience. It’s why we’re here.

If you are looking for an intensely powerful and life-changing mentorship incorporating childhood and soul healing, intuitive development, and steps to self-alignment, the Metamorphosis Program is a good place to start.  Mentorship program start dates begin again this August 2023.  Now is the time to reach out if you are ready to take the dive into healing – on the deepest and most self-loving levels.

Sending so much love and authentically empowering growth,

Jess
