Fill the Mind with Good
This morning I woke with the baby cooing in her crib, a delightful surprise… until she started being the busy body that she is. After about 30 minutes of trying to keep her from searching, grabbing and destroying, I finally lost it. Well, I walked away, excused myself, for a moment.
What I "heard" in a moment of silence:You need to fill your head with GOOD.
At that moment, I realized I had "gotten so busy" I hadn’t read my spiritual books consistently; I hadn’t meditated as frequently as I should; I hadn’t even brushed my teeth before I was "on"! So, I asked for help from the hubby (luckily he was home) and removed myself to listen further and take notes.
Here is essentially what I heard:"When you fill your head with good, it leaves less room for the negative, the anger, the doubts. Information you put in fuels your day – just like food you put into your system. You see, when you study spirituality, peace, gentleness, you give it out. When you fill your head with nonsense, fear-based stimuli (image of a TV), you give that out as well. Think wisely about what you are mentally sustaining yourself with and feed your mind with good, my child."
I then asked, "What if I am in a situation like this morning?"
The response?"It’s never too late to clean the slate. You have every right to ask for a moment of peace to regain your strength and mental sanity. If you worry about other people’s response to your request for help – like you are not being helpful or doing your part – let that go. YOU CANNOT BE OF POSITIVE INFLUENCE IF YOU ARE MENTALLY FATIGUED, OVERWHELMED."
The Lesson? We must practice self-care and remember that we absorb whatever stimuli we take in when we do not clean up our mind clutter. We must feed our minds with positive knowledge (Truth) and love. When we fill ourselves with this, that is what we will be.
Peace, love and light,Jess
